Remember George McGovern? U.S. Senator and the Democratic presidential nominee that ran against Nixon?

McGovern knows a thing or two about this country, war, politics and the law. He’s no dumbass, and he’s written an op-ed in the Washington Post that you need to read, titled:

Why I Believe Bush Must Go
Nixon Was Bad. These Guys Are Worse.

As we enter the eighth year of the Bush-Cheney administration, I have belatedly and painfully concluded that the only honorable course for me is to urge the impeachment of the president and the vice president.

Will there actually be an impeachment? I doubt it, since most of our government and judiciary seems content with just letting this administration slither quietly out of office. I normally don’t give a flying fuck what actors have to say about such things, but Sean Penn said something a while ago that stuck with me just out of simplicity, “these guys should be in fucking jail.” Our checks and balances have had their teeth kicked and… well, George McGovern says it much better than I can, and with a lot less cursing and venom.
